Are you interested in helping your community? Would you like to assist the Sand Springs Police Department? We have just the program for you. Our Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) program allows citizens to help the police department in non-law enforcement specific duties. Examples of VIPS programs are traffic control, delivery of water and food during emergency situations, amateur radio (HAM) during disasters and events and public education efforts.

Anyone interested in volunteering should contact us. We can find ways to use your talents regardless of age or physical ability. Our VIPS program is a great way to serve your community while making friends!

The VIPS program is not a reserve officer program and our volunteers do not make arrests, carry weapons or perform other law enforcement responsibilities.

All VIPS members go through an application and background process which makes sure that our volunteers maintain the high standards that the public has come to expect from the Sand Springs Police Department. If you are interested, please feel free to call Lt. Kevin O'Keefe at (918)246-2544, or fill out the VIPS interest form to request to join today.
